Case Study: Norton Street Arches
Project: Norton Street railway arches, Greengate, Salford (Greater Manchester) redeveloped by The Arch Company
As part of the transformation of the Norton Street arches in Salford, our team was proud to support the project by supplying external lighting from our OWL range. The regeneration, led by Stephen George + Partners (SGP) and delivered in collaboration with Pick Everard, focused on bringing ten previously disused railway arches back into use for retail, leisure and hospitality. Working with SGP, we supplied lighting to support a warm, welcoming and functional streetscape.
“Norton St has been a fantastic regeneration project where we have refurbished 10 arches ready for customers to move in. We are proud to be regenerating underused assets that support the Salford Greengate regeneration strategy. Light Years Ahead’s lighting on the arch frontage has been key to achieving the overall vision for the facade.” – David Norris, Senior Project Manager, The Arch Company
Our OWL lighting range has a clean, architectural finish and ability to highlight the restored brickwork without overwhelming the structure. With a robust IP65 rating for external conditions and an IK11 rating accompanied with an anti-vandal diffuser and tamper proof fixings, our external luminaires are designed to support demanding outdoor environments.
