Sustainability
At Light Years Ahead, every LED solution we deliver is a step toward a brighter, more energy-efficient future, built on circular principles, high-performance technology and British manufacturing excellence.

Why sustainability matters
Our lighting is built to perform over time, both in safety and in sustainability. We prioritise low-energy LED technology and long life cycles to reduce environmental impact and running costs. For organisations under pressure to meet energy targets, our luminaires deliver measurable savings without compromising resilience.
Responsible Innovation
We design and manufacture lighting solutions with the environment in mind, reducing waste without compromising performance.
Long-term Impact
We aim to create products and solutions that last, reducing the need for frequent replacements.
Thoughtful Design
We consider energy efficiency and material impact in our product designs, helping reduce environmental impact where we can.
ReLight Retrofitting
Our ReLight retrofitting scheme is designed to give new life to existing lighting, avoiding unnecessary waste and offering energy savings. By upgrading luminaires with LED technology, we help our clients reduce their carbon footprint. Retrofitting extends the life of infrastructure and minimises disruption for impactful sustainability. We champion a circular economy approach: reduce, reuse and relight. Our retrofitting solutions are designed with end of life in mind, enabling components to be replaced or recycled with minimal environmental impact.

Supporting sustainability goals
Our LED luminaires are engineered for exceptional lifespan (typically 60,000+ hours) meaning few replacements, less waste and significantly lower resource use over time. We’re proud to design, manufacture and test in the UK which allows us to offer shorter lead times, better quality control and friendly support from our team. We work in accordance to BS EN ISO 14001 to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Most of our retrofits and LED products comply fully with Part L of the UK Building Regulations for optimised energy performance, adherence to building standards and support in achieving and net-zero goals.
